New recruit orientation

Thursday, August 29.   5:29 AM.  Central DLS time.   An overcast sky here in PA while I write this.   Reminds me of many dark mornings at Ft Leonard Wood back in 1971.  I was there in January so the sun was not up for a couple hours yet.  Even today in MO, the sun will break over the horizon at 6:44.  Like Mackenzie tweeted, "There are no mountains here."   The world is indeed flat and round in central Missouri.

From ASK.com:  The US Army at Ft. Leonard Wood holds basic training for female army recruits. The basic training is the mental and physical training required to become a soldier in the US Army.

From a blog about FLW:  "Well the first 3 weeks (red phase) are the hardest. You have DS's in your face and you wake up at 0430 to a crazy loud siren and you get smoked pretty much all the time. Front, back."

So she has been up for an hour.  That should have included PT, cleanup and head to breakfast.  I'm guessing that by 6:00 AM they are grouping for the activities of the day.   Will have to check around for what all goes on this first week.

Found a website for FLW photos:

Another Reminder! We will update the images as they are processed. Most companies don’t start outdoor training until the end of week two and that is when we start taking pictures. If it is an OSUT company, their training follows the same layout once they enter the AIT phase and it will take a bit for us to cover more training events. We stop taking and posting photos for all units roughly three weeks before graduation. This is so we can get their merchandise produced! www.ftwoodphotos.com

More to follow as I find details.
